Patricio's Taqueria

Patricio's Taqueria

Patricio's Mexican Taqueria is located in Kukio at Hulikoa Dr, next to Kona Hawaiian Coffee and Pine Tree Cafe.

(Pc- someone)

It all started with California natives Rena Grimaldo and Patrick Mitchell, moved to Kailua-Kona in 2004. They had a dream and wanted to open a restaurant that serves authentic Mexican cuisine. In addition, the idea to make their food affordable where locals and visitors would enjoy.

With this as their mission, I can honestly say that they're doing a great job maintaining the authenticity. The interior of the restaurant has a Baja vibe and feels like I am at an authentic mom & pop Mexican restaurant.

Check out their website, I added the link below

Their menu was located and easily seen once you walk in the restaurant. Each dish was explained in details.

I ordered a fish taco ( Tacos De Pescado Fish Tacos Baja Style ) The fish was fried in their house made Modelo beer batter. Overall, the taco tasted fresh and it was delicious.

Alice (picture above, on the left), a friend of mine said “Ooo nice! I really like the tacos, good price, but it’s low on the customer service.” She points a very important point. Food operations either succeed or fail because of customer service. Its an important aspect in the restaurant business. The lady who assisted us didn't smile or greeted us. Her attitude didn't make me feel welcome and it's contradicts the aura or vibe the restaurant is trying to show.

Overall, the interior design and food were good, but the customer service was lacking and it needs improvement. Other than that, a customer like myself, would continue to go and enjoy the food.

Leave a comment below on your thoughts and I hope you’ll visit Patricio's Taqueria with an open mind and enjoy their variety of authentic Mexican cuisine. Ps. I hope you don't get the same lady who helped us.
